During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE), Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ) changed how they accepted premium payments from their Small Group customers to allow the use of credit cards. With the PHE ending, effective with the June bill Horizon BCBSNJ will add a surcharge when a credit card is used to make a premium payment. The surcharge amount will be displayed on the payment screen.
Small Group Customers Still Have No-Cost Payment Options
Horizon BCBSNJ offers several no-cost, convenient and easy ways for your customers to pay their group’s premium. They can make a payment from their checking account when they:
- Sign up for auto pay. When signed up, customers will never miss a payment. Their premium payment will automatically be deducted from their checking account on the same day every month.
- Sign in to Horizon BCBSNJ account to make a one-time payment.
- Mail a check to PO BOX 10130, Newark, NJ 07101-3130.
- Call the IVR 24/7 at 1-888-778-2005.
