Wrap, GAP and Supplemental Solutions
What are GAP plans?
GAP or supplemental health insurance products includes hospital indemnity, critical illness, accident, out-of-pocket medical expense, specific and aggregate stop loss, cancer, dental and vision insurance. Each is available as an employer-paid benefit, as employee-paid or both. Employers can offer employees the protection they want at cost-effective group rates, paid conveniently through payroll deduction.
What is a “wrap”?
An employer offers a “wrap” plan to either supplement a group medical plan, or to provide supplemental coverage to an employee who does not participate in the employer group medical plan. In the era of the affordable care act, more employers will elect to stop offering a group medical plan and will likely provide an employer paid wrap package.
