Teladoc Updates & Telehealth Benefit Extended: As promised,  National General Benefits Solutions will continue to keep you updated on the latest plan adjustments for your clients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We know that the COVID-19 crisis has created a need for your clients and their plan members to eliminate person-to-person contact. Because of that, we implemented plan enhancements to help plan members get the care they need.

Teladoc®

Allied HSA Groups with Teladoc
When the COVID-19 crisis hit, we waived the $49 Teladoc consultation fee for your clients’ group health plan members. This is a reminder that the waiver of that fee will end on June 30, 2020. As of July 1, 2020, members will be responsible for paying the consultation fee.

Members on all non-HSA plans with Teladoc will continue to have no member consultation fee.

Meritain Groups with Teladoc
When the COVID-19 crisis hit, we waived the $40 Teladoc member consultation fee. The waiver of this fee was set to expire on June 30, 2020. The waiver will now remain in effect throughout the entire Plan Year. The Teladoc consultation fee of $40 will be paid by the plan when Teladoc services are rendered.

Telehealth services conducted by a health care provider

Applicable for both Allied and Meritain groups
To provide your clients’ plan members with telehealth options, we have extended the benefit on the plan to allow telehealth services from providers when they bill with the place of service code “02” (telehealth). This benefit was set to expire on July 31, 2020. The benefit will now remain in effect throughout the entire Plan Year. All claims submitted with the place of service code “02” (telehealth) will be considered according to the plan benefits.
