As many people know by now there are many big changes with individual and family plans for open enrollment 2017. For anyone who is currently enrolled on one of the following your plan will NOT be renewed for 2017 and you will have to pick a new plan and/or a new insurer:

Aetna: all plans cancelling  in PA/NJ/NC/FL  Aetna plans only remain in Delaware in our service area
United Healthcare: All ACA plans cancelling. Short term plans are still available
Oscar: All plans in NJ cancelling
Health Republic: All plans in NJ cancelling
Highmark and Capitol Blue Cross: No longer paying broker compensation
Geisinger: No longer paying broker compensation
Independence Blue Cross: will be the only insurer available in the Philadelphia 5 County area for 2017.

In addition IBC has made some significant changes for clients in PA-Philadelphia 5 County area including Bucks, Philadelphia, Chester, Montgomery and Delaware counties:

  • Removed two plans from the Marketplace in PA including the popular Silver Proactive Value plan and the HMO Bronze as those plans will only be available “off the exchange” in 2017. If you have one of those two plans and are on the Marketplace you will have to pick a new plan
  • Removed the PPO Platinum Complete plan
  • Reduced or eliminated broker compensation

The reduction and elimination of broker compensation is important because previously you were able to take advantage of our service, experience and expertise without incurring any additional expense. Moving forward many people will be forced to pay a fee to their professional advisors to make certain that they had the right plan for them and help them whenever they needed it.  At Total Benefit Solutions, Inc we are dedicated to remaining a professional force in the health insurance market so we have worked up some solutions to make it as easy as possible to continue working with us. Beginning with open enrollment 2017 we are providing services are the following costs:
